About me
I have been a teacher for over 20 years. My teaching career started out in California, right after I graduated from Pitzer College in Claremont, Ca, teaching 3rd grade. I then moved to teaching Math and Science to 6th graders in Redondo Beach, CA for 10 years. In 2012, when we moved to Texas, I continued teaching 6th math at Reed Academy. In 2016 I changed positions at Reed Academy, becoming the STEM Lab Facilitator, teaching 6th graders STEM for a couple of years. Once Reed became an elementary school, I was fortunate enough to stay on. I now teach STEM to the first through fifth grades.
Swimming has been a huge part of my life since I was 12. In high school and college, I was on the swim team; and taught swim lessons until my son was born in 2002. In college, I swam for all 4 years and played women's water polo for 3 years
