About me
With a heart of service, a love for children, and a passion for reading Tamika Moten is currently a District Literacy Coach in Aldine Independent School District and has worked in the district for 23 years in several capacities. She has served as a teacher, Response to Intervention Coordinator, Language Arts and Math Skills Specialist, and District Professional Development Presenter. Tamika is not only a Houstonian, but also a product of Aldine Independent School District. As a proud graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, Aldine ISD, not only gave her an education, but also an opportunity to educate, uplift, and inspire others in the district after completing college. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Sam Houston State University and a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Prairie View A&M University. Believing in living a balanced life, Tamika also enjoys seeing the places she has read about by going on traveling adventures, spending quality time with her family and friends, participating in community service events, and watching game shows. Tamika Moten believes that it is a blessing to be a blessing and that through reading the world is made accessible, opportunities are made available, and creativity is activated.
