About me
My name is Carlos Díaz, and I am one of our high school district literacy coaches. I’m a first-generation Salvadoran-American and a proud product of Aldine schools (go Nimitz coogs!). My view of literacy is viewed through the lens of those two identities. As the child of immigrant parents who escaped a civil war, my parents didn’t have much besides an unstoppable drive to seize the day everyday, a drive that I thankfully inherited. This drive, coupled with some great Aldine teachers, helped me realize that my languages and words hold the power to change my life and the lives of others. My dream is to show new students that they hold this same power of literacy as well.
